How Deep the Father’s Love

It is simply immeasurable. There is no love this great!

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Berry Goodness

Last night we enjoyed a lovely little treat made from an assortment of berries. It was absolutely unhealthy but I hope to recreate this berry goodness into a healthier treat. For now, here is a little sneak peak.

Something Worth Waiting For

Rose in The Snow

Sometimes in life all we see is the cold harsh winds of life. If you persevere though and wait diligently soon you will see something beautiful. At the end of fall I anxiously await the snow that comes with winter. It simply delights my soul to see the fences and bare tree branches graced sweetly with a thick layer of snow. This winter I have had to wait especially long for it. I am sure I will soon tire of trudging through the snow to feed our animals and soon my heart will ache to see the blossoms of spring again. I simply love the garden. I like the feeling of the soft petals of the rose against my finger tips, I like the smell of the sweet blossoms in the air, I like the way the breeze gently rustles through the trees as I work. I simply love it all! The one thing no one can seem to change is the seasons though. We persevere through each season and change of weather the same way we should persevere through each season of life. Some seasons are bright and merry while others seem dim but no matter which season we are in there is always something worth waiting for.

Farm Buds

Miracle and I are simply best buds. Although he has tried to run me over multiple times, we both love each other. He is a pretty sweet horse. I probably could have sold him to a circus with all the wonderful tricks he new (untying knots, unlatching gates, moving panels, chicken “baptizing”, turning on and off electric fences, the list goes on…) but I decided to keep him to myself. I think I made a pretty good choice.

Today we decided to go matching!

Arrow in the Making

Psalm 127:3-4

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Ultrasound
The Bible tells us that they are a blessing and that they are something to be treasured. My mother and father have diligently instilled into our hearts that children are a blessing from the Lord. With much joy and excitement, I am proud to announce that Lord willing, 9 months from now I will be celebrating the birth of my little niece or nephew. Today I celebrate becoming Aunt Bethy, my parents are celebrating their first grandchild, my grandparents are celebrating the sweet fact that they are now great grandparents, and my brother Jed and his sweet wife Miranda are celebrating the announcement of their first child.

Have a beautiful day as you celebrate Life.

Only because of His Love,

The ultrasound is not of Jed and Miranda’s child but with their permission I will post one and an update at a later date.

Sweet Sweet Sound

This is a song that I heard while waiting for my grandparents to come home.

When I hear this song the thought that comes to mind is this, “To GOD be the glory”. The anthem of my life is simply defined in those five little words. Enjoy!

He Comforts Us

Isaiah 51:12

  I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

Hallelujah

Psalm 111:1

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

Helping Hands

Daniel 2012

Daniel loves to help around the home. Although he is not yet even crawling he is great at writing on the computer! I don’t know of anyone who can make the computer turn all those colors at once. He is great at making things pop up all over the screen too!

This is Daniel’s first blog post. Enjoy deciphering it!

The Lovingkindness of the Lord

Love the word

Look for something in the scripture below.

Psalm 107

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.  Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help.  Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.  He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

~~~~~~~
It is kind of repetitive, isn’t it? Fall, seek God, God heals and delivers, we praise, we fall, and repeat. How many times are we like this? Sure we don’t sacrifice children, bow down to little gold covered stone images but we do fall into sin in our own ways. My favorite part of this chapter is the last little bit. “Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.” Does it get anymore beautiful? HIS lovingkindness is what keeps us from eternity in hell.
Only because of His Love,
Beth Joy
